Job summary

JAM Recruitment is seeking an experienced Electrician for an initial 12-month contract in Govan, Glasgow. The role covers installation of cables and electrical systems across day and night shifts on site, with a 4 on, 3 off pattern.

Candidates should be SJIB approved, possess strong trade knowledge, and be familiar with safety, quality standards, and drawing interpretation. Umbrella rate applies; inside IR35; travel considerations if based far from site.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be SJIB approved electrician and compliant with UK safety standards.
• Good knowledge of their trade and high quality workmanship.
• Understanding of SHE risk awareness and site safety practices.
• Ability to read fabrication and installation drawings.
• Hands-on assembly and fabrication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Install cables (multi-core, single core, fibre optic) and electrical systems (junction boxes, fuse panels, consoles, transformers, switches etc.).
• Cable reeving, cable banding and terminations and alignment and installation of all electrical equipment.
• Operate in line with quality standards and work tolerances; interpret drawings as required.
• Adhere to SHE policies and site safety requirements; maintain safe working environment.

If based more than 39 miles from site - £37.75 Per Hour (Umbrella Rate - Inside IR35)

If based within 39 miles from site - £26.89 Per Hour (Umbrella Rate - Inside IR35)

The Role

Installation of all types of cables (multi-core, single core, co - axle, and fibre optic) & electrical systems ( junction boxes, fuse panels, consoles, transformers, switches etc.) cable reeving, cable banding and cable terminations and alignment and installation of all electrical equipment.

The Candidate

• SJIB approved electrician
• Good knowledge of their specific trade
• Understanding of quality standards and work tolerances
• Understanding of SHE risk awareness
• Understanding of fabrication and installation drawings
• Hand skills required for assembly and fabrication purposes
• Understanding of manufacturing processes
• Safety certification i.e. SHE induction, COSHH awareness, working at height etc.
