Job summary

HMP Exeter requires a Level 3 Electrical Installations qualified Electrician to support the Facilities Maintenance team. You will work on electrical installations and maintenance within a secure prison environment, ensuring compliance with BS7671 standards and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services (City & Guilds/EAL), including relevant NVQs and competency assessments (AM2/AM2S).
• Two years' experience working as a fully qualified electrician.
• Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems.
• Good Health & Safety knowledge.
• Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.

Job description

We are seeking a Level 3 Electrical Installations qualified Electrician to join our Facilities Maintenance team at HMP Exeter, a Category B Adult Male local prison.

Certificate in BS7671:2018 (18th edition)

• Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services (City & Guilds/EAL), including relevant NVQs and competency assessments (AM2/AM2S). For example: 2367 or 2357.
• Two years' experience working in a role as a fully qualified electrician
• Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems

Future Plans.

GFSL has been notified by it's shareholder (MOJ) that the provision of FM Services will in future be delivered by the private sector. This means that following a successful procurement process, GFSL's services will complete transfer to a private sector provider/providers no sooner than August 2027.
