Job summary

Manpower UK is recruiting an experienced Electrician for a leading advanced manufacturing company in Duxford, Cambridgeshire. The role focuses on safe operation of electrical systems, planned maintenance and reactive repairs to minimise downtime and support site-wide improvements.

You will interpret drawings, test and commission equipment, and ensure adherence to BS 7671 and safety standards. A recognised apprenticeship and relevant qualifications are essential.

Qualifications

  • Completed a recognised Electrical or Engineering Apprenticeship.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Services (C&G 2357/5357) or equivalent.
  • AM2 (Achievement Measurement 2) certification.
  • Current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification (BS 7671).
  • Proven experience maintaining and operating industrial electrical plant and equipment.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, including HAZOP and FMEA.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing environments, process safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to interpret technical information and work safely to established procedures and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults, identifying effective corrective actions.
  • Conduct inspections to identify potential hazards, defects, and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with current electrical regulations and company safety standards.
  • Test, commission, and verify the performance of newly installed electrical systems and equipment.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities and respond promptly to breakdowns.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation.
  • Work closely with engineering and production teams to support operational efficiency and site-wide improvement projects.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

As an Electrician, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical systems and equipment across the site.
