Job summary

Project Start Recruitment Solutions is seeking an Electrician for the Doncaster area to deliver maintenance and compliance services across designated retail stores. The role involves prioritising tasks, identifying faults, and coordinating with the Facilities Manager and subcontractors.

Candidates should have an electrical apprenticeship, 18th Edition, AM2, and relevant certifications, with experience in testing, inspection, and certification procedures within commercial environments.

Qualifications

• Full Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent.
• 18th Edition and AM2.
• 2391 certification desirable.
• BS7671 Electrical Safety Certificate.
• Experience with electrical installations in commercial properties.
• Knowledge of testing, inspection and certification procedures.
• Strong organisational skills; able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prioritise maintenance and repair work to agreed timescales and response times.
• Identify non-repairable faults and advise Facilities Manager with recommendations.
• Advise Facilities Manager of issues affecting store operations.
• Manage attendance of subcontractors per request and process.
• Carry out surveys and reports as required by the Facilities Manager.
• Carry out minor alterations and installations within technical competence.
• Maintain Time Sheets and Mileage Logs.
• Attend training courses to keep skills updated.
• Comply with Health and Safety Policy.

Key Responsibilities

• To prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times.
• To identify non-repairable faults in plant and machinery and promptly advise the Facilities Manager of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable replacement.
• To advise the Facilities Manager of any repair and maintenance issues that are likely to affect the smooth running of the store.
• To manage the attendance of any subcontractors if required in line with the Facilities Manager request and company process.
• To carry out surveys and complete reports as required by the Facilities Manager.
• To carry out minor alterations and installations within the individual s technical competence in accordance with current specifications.
• To maintain accurate Time Sheets and Mileage Logs as required.
• To attend training courses as and where necessary and to ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical developments.
• To comply with the company Health and Safety Policy at all times.

• Proven experience carrying out electrical installations within commercial properties.
• Strong knowledge of testing, inspection and certification procedures.
• Experience diagnosing and rectifying faults across commercial electrical systems.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary & Benefits

• £39,000 Base Salary (OTE £45,000)
• Door-to-Door Pay

• Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week.
