Job summary

PTSG Group is seeking an Electrician to carry out electrical works in void properties around Burton upon Trent, preparing homes for reoccupation and delivering EICRs.

You’ll join a team delivering essential housing maintenance for social housing clients, with opportunities to develop skills and training, including support to achieve 2391 certification if required.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation.
  • 18th Edition qualification.
  • Desirable – 2391/2394/2395 or EAL equivalent.
  • Experience in social housing, voids, or similar environments.
  • Experience with rewires, upgrades, and property turnaround works.
  • Proactive, quality-focused approach; pride in doing it right first time.
  • Strong communication and safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out a range of electrical works within void properties, preparing homes for reoccupation.
  • Conducting Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) across residential properties.
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults (C1s and C2s) — not just identifying issues, but resolving them on-site.
  • Delivering upgrade works, property adaptations, and full rewires where required.
  • Completing remedial works, including emergency lighting, circuit repairs, and component replacements.
  • Issuing Electrical Installation Certificates (EICs) and ensuring full compliance with regulations.
  • Working as part of a team to meet programme deadlines while maintaining high standards.
  • Managing your own schedule across sites within a local radius.

Job description

Electrician (Void Property)

Location: Burton upon Trent

Salary - basic up to £40,000 per annum

Stable and secure long-term contract working locally on Housing Association void properties, carrying out electrical works to bring properties up to standard between tenants.

At ECS, we’re a multi-award-winning compliance and maintenance team working across social housing, public sector sites, and commercial properties. Partnering with Nottingham City Council, you’ll play a key role in bringing void properties back up to standard — safely, efficiently, and ready for new tenants.

You will also be supported by an apprentice, providing additional resource while helping to develop the next generation of electrical talent. For candidates who have practical experience carrying out EICRs but do not yet hold the official 2391 qualification, we will fund additional training to help you achieve the 2391 certification, supporting your continued professional development and progression.
