Job summary

Morgan Hunt is recruiting an experienced Electrician to join a leading social housing repairs and maintenance team in Surrey. The role covers electrical repairs, maintenance, testing and compliance across occupied and void properties, delivering safe and reliable service.

You will work to Building Regulations and NICEIC standards, undertake PAT tests and inspections, and mentor junior technicians. A long-term role with regular out-of-hours rota and opportunities to contribute to projects.

Qualifications

• Must hold one of the listed electrical installation qualifications.
• Experience in electrical installation, repairs and maintenance is essential.
• Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of Building Regulations and NICEIC requirements.
• Experience with Electrical Testing, Inspection and PAT.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical repairs, maintenance, installations, testing, and inspections within social housing properties.
• Deliver works in line with current Building Regulations, NICEIC requirements, and Health & Safety legislation.
• Complete electrical testing, fault finding, inspections, surveys, and Portable Appliance Testing (PAT).
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults, aiming for first-time fixes wherever possible.
• Complete digital work orders, reports, and certification accurately and within required timescales.
• Work safely in occupied and void properties.
• Support larger projects and work collaboratively with colleagues and other trades.
• Mentor junior technicians and support their development where required.
• Participate in an out-of-hours emergency call-out rota.
• Maintain vehicle stock, tools, equipment, and materials effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Qualifications

Electrical Installation

Candidates must hold one of the following:

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation + AM2


• City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2


• City & Guilds 2330 Levels 2 & 3 (from September 2011)


• City & Guilds 2365 Levels 2 & 3 + AM2


• City & Guilds 2357 + AM2


• Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification (2346) + AM2E

Inspection & Testing

• City & Guilds 2391 Periodic Inspection & Testing


• City & Guilds 2395 Inspection & Testing

Experience Required

• Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical installation, repairs, and maintenance.


• Previous experience working within social housing, property maintenance, facilities management, or a similar environment.


• Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service.


• Strong fault-finding, inspection, and testing experience.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
