Job summary

HRUC (Harrow, Richmond & Uxbridge Colleges) in Uxbridge is seeking a High Skills Technician - Electrical Installation to maintain and repair equipment in the Electrical Installation section and to support teaching staff.

The role involves supervising learners in workshops, assisting lecturers with equipment preparation, and ensuring Health and Safety compliance. The successful candidate will have industry experience and be willing to become a First Aider within the College.

Qualifications

• Experience gained within the Electrical Installation industry.
• Experience of working in a training environment or with young people.
• Ability to manage and monitor learners in a workshop environment.
• Ability to work effectively without supervision.
• Willingness to become a practising First Aider in the College.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and undertake simple repairs for Electrical Installation equipment in the Section.
• Assist lecturers in preparing equipment and resources for teaching and learning.
• Ensure Health and Safety is complied with.
• Supervise students working in the workshops and in practical lessons (with or without a Lecturer present).
• Instruct and support students and work closely with other Technicians to ensure smooth operation of the area.
