Job summary

Hertford Regional College (HRC) is seeking a Workshop Technician to support the Electrical Installation department for the 2026/27 academic year. The role is a part-time, temporary agency position at 21.6 hours per week, with start ASAP and potential for extra hours.

The successful candidate will work closely with the teaching team to set up and maintain a safe, effective practical learning environment, including preparing rigs, materials and equipment for lessons.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a practical electrical workshop environment.
• Ability to support learners and lecturers in hands-on sessions.

Responsibilities

• Build and prepare electrical training rigs for practical sessions.
• Prepare the workshop, equipment and materials ahead of lessons.
• Order and maintain workshop materials and supplies.
• Keep the workshop clean, safe and well organised.
• Assist with maintenance and organisation of tools and equipment.
• Support lecturers during practical sessions, particularly with larger groups.
• Ensure learners have access to required equipment and resources.
