Job summary

Electrical Technician - Wiring & Assembly

Location: Newmarket, Suffolk

Salary: Up to £35,000

Are you experienced in electrical wiring, assembly or panel building and confident working from electrical drawings and schematics?

We're recruiting an Electrical Technician - Wiring & Assembly to join an engineering business based in Newmarket. This is a hands‑on, workshop‑based position working as part of a production and engineering team to build and test electrical systems for bespoke engineering projects.

You don't necessarily need to have held the title "Electrical Assembler". We're interested in people from a range of hands‑on electrical backgrounds who are comfortable building, wiring and testing electrical components and systems.

What you'll be doing

• Assembling and wiring electrical components, assemblies and systems


• Control panel wiring


• Cable preparation, routing and termination


• Working from electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics


• Carrying out quality inspections and functional checks


• Identifying and resolving wiring or assembly issues during the build


• Working closely with mechanical assembly and engineering teams


• Maintaining accurate build documentation


• Supporting improvements to build quality and manufacturing efficiency

• Strong attention to detail and a focus on build quality


• Experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment


• Experience with low‑voltage electrical systems and control panel wiring would be advantageous.
