Job description

Job Description

My client is now recruiting for a Vehicle Fitter to join their expanding team. This is an exciting time to join a company that continues to grow in the local area. If you have a background as a trained mechanic or have 2 years of mechanical engineering experience, then this could be just the job for you.

You will also need to have 2 years’ experience in automotive 12-volt and 48-volt electrical circuits. Welding would be a distinct advantage but is not essential. Working on the front line of production, you will help maintain the high standards their customers expect. The job is challenging and interesting, with a lot of variation.

Not only will you be responsible for building our own vehicles, but also for the maintenance and repair of the company rental fleet. This is a full-time, permanent role, with a 39-hour week, 23 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Responsibilities:
  1. Actively participate in the on-the-job training program
  2. Build production vehicles as per given job cards
  3. Prepare or repair rental vehicles, as per given job cards
  4. Meet production build target hours
  5. Ensure compliance with the company Health and Safety Policy
  6. Keep the factory and surrounding areas smart, clean, and safe
  7. Adhere to and participate in the company 5S program
  8. Help achieve ongoing improvements in build times and quality performance
Skills:
  • At least 2 years of mechanical engineering experience in automotive, power, aviation, or manufacturing environments
  • Experience in electrical fault finding, repair, and general maintenance of machinery
  • Welding experience is an advantage but not essential
  • Clear communication on technical issues
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a changing customer-driven environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Clean driving license

The role suits a positive ‘can-do’ attitude, supported by an active ‘roll the sleeves up’ approach. If you demonstrate the skills outlined above, please apply. You will receive a competitive salary, along with a discretionary company profit share. Interviews are taking place immediately.
