About the Role
As an Electrical Apprenticeship Tutor, your role will encompass delivering practical and theoretical electrical training, aligning with company and awarding organisation guidelines to apprentices or commercial clients, both in the classroom and through practical, hands-on training. You will deliver qualifications such as 5357, 5393, and 2382, and may also be required to deliver courses like C&G 2365 Level 2 & 3, C&G 2382, C&G 2391, C&G 2377, C&G 2921, as well as BPEC Solar PV and Battery Storage. You may also develop training materials to meet specific requirements and will be responsible for apprenticeship delivery.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons to apprentices in both classroom and practical settings, ensuring consistency across all electrical installation and domestic subjects.
- Develop and update lesson plans and training materials to align with industry standards and apprenticeship frameworks.
- Assess apprentices' work, providing constructive feedback and support for improvement.
- Monitor and record apprentices' progress, achievements, and development needs accurately.
- Provide one-on-one mentoring and support to address learning or personal issues.
- Conduct Progress Reviews with apprentices and employers.
- Ensure all training and assessments comply with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with employers to provide technical advice and ensure training meets workplace needs and supports on-the-job learning.
- Assess courses according to company and awarding body guidelines, maintaining accurate records of attendance, assessments, and achievements.
- Review individual apprentice performance at key points and manage 'at risk' procedures as needed.
- Implement Internal Quality Assurance processes as required by the company and awarding bodies.
- Adhere to and promote Health & Safety policies and practices.
- Promote Equality & Diversity policies and practices.
- Work collaboratively within the team and liaise effectively with other departments and organisations.
- Support and promote Safeguarding and Prevent initiatives.
Qualifications
- Recent and relevant industry experience in domestic, commercial, or industrial electrical installation.
- Minimum Level 3 Teaching qualification or equivalent.
- Minimum Level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and science principles.
- Practical capabilities in electrical installations.
- Valid driving license and access to own vehicle for travel to training centres.
- Ability to deliver qualifications 5357, 5393, and 2382.
Additional Skills and Qualifications
- Level 3 Assessing qualification or equivalent.
- Level 4 Internal Quality Audit certificate or equivalent.
- Additional electrical qualifications such as C&G 2396, 2391, or green credentials (Solar PV, EV, EESS).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with project management skills.
- Problem-solving attitude with patience and composure.
- Leadership qualities and team spirit.
- Full UK Driving License.
