Job summary

An exciting internship opportunity at Airbus Defence and Space Limited in Portsmouth for an undergraduate Electrical/Electronic Engineering student. The paid placement runs for 12 months, starting 19 July 2027, with 37 hours per week and hybrid working options depending on the role.

You will help prepare and deploy electrical/thermal test equipment for the project life-cycle, design harnesses, evaluate payload performance, and participate in innovation within the Open Innovation framework.

Qualifications

• Open to undergraduates for the whole duration of the placement.
• Studying towards a degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Interest in Telecommunications, Aerospace industry, military engineering.
• Basic understanding of electrical test equipment & electrical measurements.
• Good communication skills with internal and possibly external customers.
• Able to work autonomously in a proactive and responsible manner.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deploy test equipment for electrical & thermal test phases of the project life-cycle.
• Design and validate custom harnesses and test support equipment.
• Evaluate payload performance, analyze non-conformances, and support clean room operations.
• Drive innovation and process improvements within Airbus DS Open Innovation framework.
• Collaborate across multi-stakeholder environments and adapt to the project needs.
