Job summary

Siemens in Hindley Green is seeking an Electrical Test & Quality Engineer to join the Custom Solutions Test Team. You will verify safety and quality by inspecting bespoke LV switchgear assemblies and conducting electrical tests before shipment.

The role requires reading schematics, applying BS EN 61439 and 18th Edition knowledge, and maintaining proper FAT records, test certificates, and quality documentation in line with ISO 9001:2015.

Qualifications

• Qualified electrical engineer with practical testing experience.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and drawings.
• Knowledge of BS EN 61439 and 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
• Proficient in Excel and quality documentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine electrical testing on bespoke LV switchgear assemblies.
• Check wiring and component installation against schematics and drawings.
• Conduct insulation resistance, continuity, dielectric, and functional tests.
• Maintain fault logs, test certificates, and ISO9001:2015 quality documents.
• Ensure BS EN 61439 compliance and customer specifications.
• Support FAT preparation, delivery and follow-up.
• Produce detailed test records, FAT documentation, and walkaround videos.
