Job summary

The Abbey is seeking an Electrical Engineer to perform routine LV switchgear testing and validation. You will check wiring against schematics, conduct insulation resistance and dielectric tests, and maintain comprehensive test records in line with ISO9001 standards.

You will support FAT preparation and follow‑up, producing detailed documentation and walkthrough videos to demonstrate test results and compliance.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering qualification with practical testing experience.
• Strong fault‑finding skills including dielectric withstand testing of LV assemblies.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of BS EN 61439, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, and single/three‑phase electrical systems.
• Strong documentation and PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine electrical testing on bespoke LV Switchgear Assemblies in line with safe working practices.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
• Knowledge of BS EN 61439, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, and single and three‑phase electrical systems
• Strong documentation, reporting, and PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• A self‑motivated and adaptable professional who can work independently while meeting deadlines
