Job summary

MBDA UK is seeking an experienced Electrical Test Operator for night shift in Bolton. You will join a high-paced Manufacturing Operations team testing and certifying electrical hardware builds from small fixtures to missile systems throughout the lifecycle.

You will provide operations support to achieve time, cost and quality targets while maintaining safe 5S practices and quality workmanship. Collaboration with Engineering and Quality is essential to overcome challenges.

Qualifications

• Electrical Apprenticeship at Advanced Level or L3 Standard.
• Electrical Level 3 academic qualification (ONC, diploma, etc.).
• Electrical Level 3 vocational qualification (NVQ).
• Ability to read and understand assembly drawings and planning instructions.
• Proficient with Manufacturing equipment, tools and measuring instruments.

Responsibilities

• Test and certify electrical hardware builds across lifecycle.
• Provide operations support to meet time, cost and quality targets.
• Ensure hardware builds are tested per drawings and specifications.
• Maintain a safe working environment in line with 5S policies.
• Collaborate with Operators, Engineering and Quality to drive continuous improvement.
• Work with a large multi-disciplinary team delivering missile systems.

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Test Operator to join our Manufacturing Operations team in a fast-paced but friendly and inclusive Manufacturing environment. This role is to work on the night shift. Salary: £43,537 plus shift allowance Dynamic (hybrid) working: 5 days per week on-site due to workload classification Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

This opportunity is for an Electrical Test Operator to join the Manufacturing team supporting test and certification of a variety of electrical hardware builds, ranging from small fixtures through to complex missile systems, during all phases of the product lifecycle. You will be providing operations support to ensure programme targets are met to agreed time, cost and quality requirements. Ensuring that completed hardware builds are tested in accordance with drawing requirements and specifications; Maintaining a safe working environment in-line with 5S policies Always aiming to deliver in line with all time, cost and quality requirements Ensuring assembly unit production costs are met Maintaining, to the highest level, workmanship standards and product quality Ensuring the completion of all manufacturing documentation Working closely with fellow Operators, Engineering and Quality to overcome any technical challenges and offer feedback for continuous improvement activities You will be working with a large team of multi-disciplined operators in a fast-paced but friendly and inclusive Manufacturing environment. The team has a great mix of people, ranging from apprentices through to experienced skilled technicians, all striving to deliver technical excellence across a number of different missile systems in development and production.

• Electrical Engineering / Manufacturing Apprenticeship (Advanced Level or L3 Standard)
• Electrical Engineering / Manufacturing Level 3 academic qualification (ONC, diploma, etc.)
