Job summary

MBDA UK Limited in Stevenage seeks an Electrical Manufacturing Technician to join our on-site team in a fast-paced, friendly environment. You will perform production, repair and modification of MBDA products to meet build standards and specifications, applying a versatile skill set across manufacturing cycles.

The role requires an Advanced Level or L3 Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering and Level 3 qualifications.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering / Manufacturing Apprenticeship at Advanced Level or L3 Standard.
• Electrical Level 3 academic qualification (ONC, diploma, etc.).
• Electrical Level 3 NVQ vocational qualification (if not L3 apprenticeship).

Responsibilities

• Carry out production, repair and modification of MBDA products to meet build standards.
• Apply a versatile skill base across tasks in the manufacturing cycle.
• Be fully conversant with equipment, tools and measuring instruments.
• Ensure build and inspection times are met and documented.
• Maintain high workmanship standards and product quality.
• Maintain safety, housekeeping and compliance with procedures.
• Share best practices with team members.

Job description

An exciting opportunity for an electrical Technician to join our Stevenage Manufacturing Operations team in a fast-paced but friendly and inclusive Manufacturing environment.

Salary

Circa £42,500 dependent on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working

5 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance

British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity

The Electrical Manufacturing Technician will be responsible for carrying out the production, repair and modification of company products to meet defined build standards and specification requirements. You will:

• Possess a versatile skill base with the capability to apply these skills across a range of tasks.
• Be fully conversant with all equipment, tools and measuring instruments associated with the manufacturing cycle.
• Ensure manufacturing build, inspection, and where relevant, inspection times are met.
• Check and complete all required manufacturing data requirements.
• Maintain to the highest level, workmanship standards and product quality.
• Ensure compliance with all associated procedures applicable to the manufacturing process.
• Certify the product in line with the product certification procedure.
• Maintain product certification and approval via regular audits.Maintain a safe working environment.
• Maintain a good housekeeping policy.
• Communicate best practice to other team members.

What we're looking for from you

Qualifications required (all of the below)

• Electrical Engineering / Manufacturing Apprenticeship (Advanced Level or L3 Standard)

• Electrical Engineering / Manufacturing Level 3 academic qualification (ONC, diploma, etc.)

• Electrical Engineering / Manufacturing Level 3 vocational qualification (NVQ) *Not required if a L3 apprenticeship standard has been achieved

• The successful candidate should be a team player who is able to demonstrate customer focus. They should also have proven planning and organising skills and be flexible and adaptable.
