Job summary

Veolia Water Technology in Peterborough is seeking an Electrical Assembly Technician to join our site at the Peterborough Service Centre. You will fabricate, install and document electrical systems and work with single-phase, three-phase, low- and extra-low voltage circuits.

The role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, 12-month FTC, with a comprehensive benefits package and training on our products. You will read technical drawings, troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and contribute to safe,

Qualifications

  • City and Guilds Level 3 in electrical installations is mandatory.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations knowledge required.
  • Experience in industrial electrical works and PLC controlled equipment.

Job Description

Electrical Assembly Technician | Peterborough | £40,000 - £45,000 FTC 12 months

Full training on our products is planned into our Induction. This position is based 100% at our site in Peterborough Service Centre, which is home to a large-scale regeneration facility as well as the base for a fleet of over 100 mobile water treatment units, primarily fixed within trailers and containers.

What you'll be doing:
  • Fabrication, installation, and documentation of electrical systems
  • Working with single-phase, three-phase, low-voltage and extra low voltage electrical circuits
  • Preparation and termination of electrical circuits
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Troubleshooting electrical instrumentation and mechanical equipment and presenting technical solutions to address these issues
  • Configuration of instrumentation
  • Testing electrical systems incorporating PLCs, HMIs, VFDs and relays
  • Commissioning of special build equipment, electrically and mechanically
  • Maintaining the quality of all products, performing incoming and outgoing quality control tests, inspections, and repair of all plant and field equipment
  • Electrical inspection and testing (EIC, EICR and PAT)
Qualifications
What we are looking for:
  • City and Guilds Level 3 in electrical installations or equivalent (mandatory)
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Experience in industrial electrical works
  • Experience wiring and fault finding PLC controlled equipment
Desirable
  • City and Guilds 2391 – Electrical testing and inspection
  • Passport to Safety or equivalent
