Job Description:

OUTSIDE IR35 ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Technician to carry out maintenance on rolling stock based out of the company's depot in Newcastle.

This role is a 6–8 month contract with a possible extension and offers an attractive rate (per hour) of £30.62 LTD.

The role involves a 36-hour week on a shift roster, mainly covering night shifts, with only 3–4 days worked per week.

Rolling stock experience is NOT required; candidates from ex-forces, automotive, aircraft, marine, FMCG, and other electrical maintenance industries will be considered.

Your Tasks

• Carry out preventative maintenance programmes on various rolling stock and depot infrastructure repairs/maintenance.
• Perform duties including checks, inspections, component changes, and overhauls of rolling stock parts, as trained and deemed competent.
• Investigate faults on voltages ranging from 1500V DC to electronic voltages.
• Investigate faults on electrical, pneumatic, and other components as instructed.
• Refurbish and modify rolling stock, including replacing and upgrading components and systems.
• Carry out component overhauls as instructed when trained and deemed competent.

Your Profile

Essential:

• Recognized electrical apprenticeship or Level 3 equivalent qualification.
• Ability to carry out routine planned and preventative maintenance.
• Ability to conduct fault investigations.
• Ability to read electrical drawings.

Successful candidates will be required to pass a medical and drug & alcohol test prior to starting work.
