Job summary

JLL in Edinburgh seeks a Shift Engineer to operate building systems, perform PPM tasks and support statutory inspections. You will act as Duty Authorised Person (LV) if required and coordinate with the Technical Manager to maintain high standards of safety and reliability.

You'll be responsible for building management systems, air handling, fire systems, and electrical distribution, with a focus on safe, compliant operation and effective fault resolution.

Qualifications

• Experience in building services and facilities operation.
• Proven ability to manage small teams of technicians.
• Strong reporting and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate all building systems in a competent, effective and efficient manner.
• Act as the Duty Authorised Person (LV) if required.
• Issue relevant site Permits as part of the Safe System of Work.
• Complete PPM and reactive tasks and update the system.
• Ensure daily tours are completed and repair or report defects via the helpdesk.
• Identify materials required and complete internal Materials Request Form.
• Comply with health, safety and environmental regulations and policies.
• Record statutory inspections and fire safety records.
• Sign off Specialist Service Provider worksheets and escalate recommendations.
• Maintain high housekeeping in plant areas, workshops and stores.
