Job summary

Ford & Stanley TalentWise is seeking a skilled HVAC Electrical Technician to join a rolling stock engineering team, supporting overhaul, testing, and commissioning of HVAC systems on passenger trains. Location at Barton Under Needwood with initial training in Doncaster.

The role involves overhaul and refurbishment of HVAC units, electrical fault finding, high-voltage testing, reading schematics, and maintaining maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Installation or related discipline.
• Experience with electrical fault finding and maintenance.
• Experience as Electrical Technician or similar role in engineering.
• High-voltage testing experience desirable.

HVAC Electrical Technician

Salary: £19.20 PAYE

Contract:6-month Temp to Perm

Shifts: Monday to Thursday 07:00 - 16:00 Friday 06:00am - 12:00pm

Location: Permanent base Barton Under Needwood (3 Months Training in Doncaster)

The Role

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Electrical Technician to join a rolling stock engineering team, supporting the overhaul, testing, and commissioning of HVAC systems used on passenger trains.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out the overhaul, refurbishment, and testing of HVAC units removed from rolling stock.
• Perform electrical fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs on HVAC equipment.
• Undertake high-voltage testing and ensure all work is completed to safety and quality standards.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Support continuous improvement activities and maintain accurate maintenance records.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Installation, or a related discipline.
• Strong electrical bias with proven experience in fault finding and electrical maintenance.
• Experience working as an Electrical Technician, Maintenance Technician, or similar engineering role.
• High-voltage testing experience is highly desirable.
• Rail industry experience is advantageous but not essential.

Training & Location

Successful candidates will initially complete a 3-month training programme in Doncaster.

Travel during the training period will be reimbursed at 30p per mile.

Upon successful completion of training, technicians will transfer to the Barton site on a permanent basis.
