Job summary

GE Vernova in Whetstone, UK is seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer to join the Electrification team and support design, installation and commissioning of dedicated test-beds.

The role involves coordinating with customers and stakeholders, performing power system studies with MATLAB, DigSilent and other tools, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. UK EYE clearance is required for this position.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial, marine or naval defence domain preferred.
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams with electrical, mechanical, and fluid systems.
• Proactive, motivated, lean mindset for challenging problems.
• Practical approach to design and implementation of test platforms.
• Knowledge of marine classification society, IEC, MIL or DEF standards.
• Experts in Power System modelling, generator excitation systems, PEMD encouraged.
• Demonstrates good attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Work on test facility design, installation and commissioning.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers and stakeholders to drive engineering excellence.
• Support power system studies and analyses using MATLAB, DigSilent, eTAP, PSCAD or PSSE.
• Generate specifications for LV/HV switchboards, generators, cables, transformers and drives.
• Ensure system designs meet requirements, health & safety and standards.
• Prepare concise technical documents and lead reviews with domain experts.
• Contribute to commissioning and testing operations.
• Review data from multiple sources and produce validation reports.
