Job summary

Bridges Electrical Engineers is seeking an Electrical Supervisor to oversee a team of electricians on several programmes across the South West. This is a permanent role, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, paid hourly with overtime.

Travel time is paid door to door, and a company van with fuel card is provided. You will supervise installations to BS7671, ensure work meets the project quality plan, coach electricians and apprentices, promote Bridges values, and represent Bridges professionally.

Qualifications

• ECS Gold Card is essential.
• SSSTS/SMSTS certification is essential.
• Experience supervising electrical installations on site.
• Experience in water or heavy industrial environments.
• City & Guilds trade qualification.
• Medical fitness to work (can be done on starting).

Responsibilities

• Supervise electrical installations in line with BS7671 and Bridges safety rules.
• Ensure all items are installed to the project quality plan and inspection/ test plans.
• Follow and promote STAR dynamic risk assessment; stop work if unsafe.
• Coach and mentor Electricians, Improvers/Mates and Apprentices.
• Promote Bridges values with peers, staff, customers and clients.
• Support health and well-being among peers.
• Act professionally and be an ambassador for Bridges.

Purpose of the Role

To oversee and manage a team of electricians on a number of programmes of work to be completed across the South West region.

The Role

This is a permanent job role.

Contracted to 40hrs per week Monday to Friday. Paid hourly, with overtime paid.
You will be paid your travel time door to door, on top of your contracted and overtime hours.

Company van provided, with fuel card issued.

• To be responsible for supervising electrical installations in accordance with BS7671 and Bridges Health & Safety Rules and Essential Standards
• Ensure that all items are installed to the highest standards, in compliance with the project’s quality plan and inspection and test plans
• To follow and actively promote the STAR dynamic risk assessment and to be empowered to stop work should unsafe circumstances arise
• To coach and mentor Electricians, Electrical Improvers/Mates and Apprentices
• Promote and demonstrate the Bridges' values when dealing with peers, staff, customers and clients
• Promote positive health and well-being amongst their peer
• To act in a professional manner and be an ambassador for Bridges, supporting the business goals and maintaining the company’s positive reputation.

• ECS gold card (essential)
• SSSTS / SMSTS (essential)
• Experience as an Electrical Supervisor, site managing electrical projects.
• Experience within water / heavy industrial industries
• Appropriate City & Guilds trade Qualification
• Fit to work medical (can be completed upon starting employment).

Desirable

• PASMA / IPAF
• Confined space
• COMPEX
• EUSR water hygiene
• Thames water passport
• Inspection and testing certification.
