Job description

About The Role

We're looking for an experienced and motivated Electrical Supervisor to lead our team of electrical technicians and help deliver a high-quality, responsive repairs and maintenance service across our homes and communities.

As part of our Direct Services team, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our electrical works are delivered safely, efficiently and in full compliance with current regulations and NICEIC standards. Reporting to the Operations Manager for Electrical Compliance, you'll oversee a team of technicians, manage workloads, support technical development and ensure our residents receive an excellent service every time.

You’ll lead by example, promoting a strong customer-focused culture and a 'right first time' approach, while ensuring repairs, maintenance, inspections and testing are completed to a consistently high standard. You'll also support compliance activity, including NICEIC assessments, certification requirements and the implementation of regulatory updates.

You will be based at Croydon, with occasional travel to support colleagues and teams in other regions where required.

You’re a qualified Electrician with a strong work ethic and a focus on delivering great service. You’re confident working independently, but equally comfortable supporting colleagues and working as part of a team.

About you

You're an experienced electrical professional with strong technical knowledge, leadership skills and a passion for delivering excellent customer service. You enjoy supporting and developing others, maintaining high standards and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and compliantly.

You will need:

• Proven experience supervising electrical repairs, maintenance and compliance activities within a housing, maintenance or similar environment
• At least two years' experience as a NICEIC Qualified Supervisor or equivalent supervisory experience
• Relevant electrical installation qualifications, including:
  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation (or equivalent recognised qualification)
  • AM2 certification (where applicable)
• Inspection and Testing qualification (e.g. City & Guilds 2391 or 2395)
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification (City & Guilds 2382)
• Extensive experience carrying out electrical repairs, maintenance, inspections and testing
• Strong knowledge of NICEIC requirements, electrical regulations, health and safety legislation and compliance standards
• Experience managing, mentoring and developing technical teams to achieve high performance
• The ability to identify faults, resolve complex issues and deliver a first-time fix wherever possible
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, colleagues and contractors
• A commitment to delivering outstanding customer service and supporting vulnerable residents with professionalism and sensitivity
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage workloads, priorities, budgets and performance targets effectively
• A proactive, collaborative approach and commitment to fostering a positive team culture
• Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends with reasonable notice and participate in a 24-hour emergency call-out and escalation rota
• You must hold a full UK driving licence with no more than six points and with no serious motoring offences in the last 10 years (i.e., CD, DD, DG, DR, IN, MR, TT). You must also have a minimum of two years driving experience. We will undertake driving licence checks on the successful candidate as part of our standard pre-employment checks process.
