Job description

Astute's Renewables team is exclusively partnering with a utility-scale solar O&M company to recruit a Junior Field Service Engineer for its sites in Bristol, Swindon, and the surrounding areas.

This role offers a salary of £30,000 - £36,000 DOE, a company van, and an excellent opportunity to transition into the utility-scale solar industry.

Responsibilities and duties

• Assist with planned inspection and maintenance according to legal, technical, manufacturer, and contractual requirements. Learn about reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and standard operating procedures.
• Perform reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and resolution promptly.
• Conduct site surveys as required.
• Prepare accurate documentation for internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Maintain detailed records of electrical testing, High Voltage, and safety documents suitable for audit.
• Ensure work output meets quality, reliability, cost, and productivity standards.
• Comply with the company's Health & Safety Policy.

Professional qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Qualifications or equivalent.
• 17th/18th edition wiring regulations (preferably).
• At least one year of experience in electrical installation/maintenance in industrial, commercial, or domestic settings.
• Full UK driving license.

Personal skills

• Enthusiastic about renewable technologies such as solar PV and battery storage.
• Willing to travel to various site locations.

Salary and benefits
