Job summary

Hunter Selection is seeking a Shift Engineer in Stevenage to maintain high‑speed production and packaging lines. The role covers electrical and mechanical fault finding, maintenance planning, and improvement projects, with a focus on PLCs, HMIs and SCADA systems.

The package includes a £52,000 salary, 12‑hour shifts (2 days / 2 nights / 4 off) and a robust benefits scheme. You will work within a fast‑paced FMCG environment requiring multi‑skilled engineering capability.

Qualifications

NVQ Level 3 engineering or maintenance minimum.
Ideally HNC / HND.
Experience in fast-paced FMCG manufacturing.
Strong electrical and mechanical problem solving.

Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance of high‑speed production & packaging machinery.
Work on control panels, HMIs, PLCs, SCADA Systems.
Electrical & mechanical fault finding, repairs and improvements.
Engage in continuous improvement projects.
Deal with motors, VSDs, servo drives, pneumatics, gearboxes and bearings.
Mechanical fabrication, fitting and welding.
