Job summary

Wates Group seeks an Electrical Shift Engineer for Wellcome Genome Campus in Hinxton. The role involves planned and reactive maintenance of electrical systems and building services within a world-class research environment.

You will carry out inspections, fault-finding and compliance checks, working a rotating day/night shift roster that may include weekends. DBS checks and pre-employment verification apply.

Qualifications

• Qualified electrician with recognised electrical qualifications.
• Experience in Facilities Management or building services maintenance.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical systems and building services equipment.
• Diagnose and rectify faults across electrical installations and plant.
• Support operation and maintenance of critical infrastructure and site services.
• Complete inspections, testing and compliance checks per statutory requirements.
• Ensure works are carried out safely and in line with legislation and procedures.
• Maintain maintenance records and permit-to-work documentation accurately.
• Liaise with colleagues, subcontractors and the client team.
• Participate in the on-site shift rota to ensure continuous service delivery.
