Job summary

Smart Managed Solutions is seeking an Electrical Shift Engineer for a prestigious contract in Central London. The role follows a days-only continental shift pattern: 4 days on, 6 days off, with hours 07:00–19:00.

You will perform PPM, reactive and breakdown tasks across electrical systems including AC, UPS and LV setups. Training and clear progression paths are offered within a company committed to growth and work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Formally trained in City and Guilds Electrical Installations or the equivalent NVQ and Building Services maintenance.
• 18th Edition BS7671 City and Guilds.

Responsibilities

Purpose

To carry out PPM, reactive and breakdown works to all Electrical systems within the site. Engineers must be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge of Air conditioning, UPS, Generators, LV systems, which will include the ability to fault find using the production of graphical information and the utilisation of current alarm data. Operate and manage all engineering assets to support the business with no unplanned disruptions in the most cost-effective manner. Manage reactive works process to ensure requests are responded to and closed out in accordance with agreed procedures. To develop management tools to actively report on asset and building performance and make recommendations for improvement.

Key Tasks And Responsibilities

• Ensure routine PPM is carried out to all electrical plant in accordance with Site task schedules and asset lists.
• Complete reactive tasks throughout the building and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made. These reactive calls should also include concessionary stores and fabric-related items.
• Address plant faults and defects swiftly to maintain plant in serviceable order.
• Maintain suitable spares to carry out both maintenance and reactive works. Provide parts inventory and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works.
• Maintain the Computer Based Maintenance system, e.g. Concept, Smart Hub, ensuring that PPM and reactive tickets are closed out with accurate data captured.
• Complete all relevant paperwork regarding reactive and breakdown works and pass it without delay to the contract administrator.
• Prepare and use Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks undertaken to ensure safe working practices at all times.
• Maintain all plant rooms under the responsibility of Smart in a locked, clean and tidy condition.
