Job summary

Blackfield Associates is seeking an experienced Electrical Section Head to lead a growing Electrical Design team within a multidisciplinary environment. You will deliver technically complex designs across pharmaceutical, food, research, development and advanced manufacturing sectors, while mentoring engineers and coordinating across projects.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering (BEng or equivalent).
• Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or progression towards chartership.
• Membership of a relevant professional body such as IET or CIBSE.
• Experience managing or supervising engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design standards, regulations, and industry best practice.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, industrial, manufacturing, food, life science environments.

We are seeking an accomplished Electrical Section Head to lead an established Electrical Design team within a multidisciplinary engineering environment. Working on challenging projects across sectors including pharmaceutical, food, research, development, and advanced manufacturing, you will play a key role in both technical delivery and team leadership.

The Role

As Electrical Section Head, you will be responsible for managing and developing the electrical engineering function, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality designs that meet client requirements, programme targets, budgets, and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and mentoring a team of electrical engineers and designers
• Managing resource allocation and workload planning across multiple projects
• Reviewing and approving calculations, drawings, specifications, schedules, and technical documentation
• Ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and quality procedures

About You
