Job summary

NG Bailey seeks an Electrical Quality Lead for the Hinkley Point C Alliance in Bridgwater. You will ensure quality, safety and regulatory compliance across the discipline for a nuclear new build, with potential away-from-home work and uplifts where required.

You will develop QA procedures, lead audits, manage documentation, and drive continuous improvement while coordinating with engineering, construction and commissioning teams on this landmark project.

Qualifications

• Qualified in Electrical Engineering discipline (ONC/HNC/HND) or equivalent.
• Chartered Quality Institute membership preferred.
• QMS 2018 Lead Auditor certification preferred (IRCA).
• Experience as quality engineer on major projects.
• Nuclear industry experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the quality management system within the discipline, ensuring regulatory and project standard compliance.
• Develop, review, and approve QA procedures, work instructions, and quality plans aligned with project requirements.
• Conduct QA inspections and audits, manage non-conformances, and implement corrective actions.
• Manage discipline documentation for regulatory compliance and traceability.
• Provide QA training to project personnel and promote a culture of quality.
• Identify quality risks and mitigation measures to ensure safety and reliability in the nuclear facility.
• Ensure compliance with nuclear regulatory requirements, codes, standards, and licensing conditions.
• Coordinate QA across engineering, construction and commissioning interfaces.
• Monitor KPIs, prepare progress reports, and communicate QA status.
• Develop ITPs to meet construction schedule.
• Audit project activities as per schedule and ad hoc.
• Champion foreign material exclusion and prevent ingress of non-specified materials.
• Issue NCRs and maintain NCR/CAR Lessons Learned logs.
