Job summary

Streamline Search is seeking an experienced Electrical Qualified Supervisor (QS) to oversee electrical works across commercial and industrial projects in London and surrounding areas. The role entails ensuring safety, compliance with BS 7671, and maintaining high quality standards while mentoring site teams.

The ideal candidate holds an NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification (or equivalent), 18th Edition, and NICEIC-approved/Black Card QS status. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Electrical Qualified Supervisor or in a similar senior electrical role.
• Strong understanding of electrical installation methods and testing procedures.
• Thorough knowledge of current electrical regulations, health & safety requirements and industry best practice.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Qualified Supervisor, ensuring electrical works are completed safely, compliantly and to a high standard.
• Oversee electrical installations across commercial and industrial projects, ensuring compliance with current industry standards and regulations.
• Carry out regular site visits to monitor ongoing projects, shadow electricians and ensure quality standards are consistently maintained.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring and support to electricians and junior engineers on site.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current electrical regulations, industry standards and best practice.

Location: London & Surrounding Areas
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 DOE
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8-hour working day

Our client is a well-established and rapidly growing electrical contractor delivering commercial and industrial projects across London and the surrounding areas. With a strong reputation for technical expertise, safety and high-quality service, they work across a range of electrical projects for a diverse client base.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Qualified Supervisor (QS) to oversee electrical works, ensure regulatory compliance and maintain high standards of quality across their projects, while providing technical guidance and mentoring to their electrical teams.

Electrical Qualified Supervisor - Position Overview

• Act as the Qualified Supervisor, ensuring electrical works are completed safely, compliantly and to a high standard.
• Oversee electrical installations across commercial and industrial projects, ensuring compliance with current industry standards and regulations.
• Conduct visual inspections and testing of electrical systems, reviewing certifications and compliance documentation.
• Carry out regular site visits to monitor ongoing projects, shadow electricians and ensure quality standards are consistently maintained.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring and support to electricians and junior engineers on site.
• Identify and address technical issues, defects and areas of non-compliance, ensuring appropriate remedial action is taken.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current electrical regulations, industry standards and best practice.
• Liaise with project managers, clients, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements, quality standards and timelines are met.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, certifications, site audits and other compliance documentation.
• Support the safe delivery of site works, including managing site activities and issuing permits to work where required.

Electrical Qualified Supervisor - Position Requirements

• Proven experience as an Electrical Qualified Supervisor or in a similar senior electrical role.
• NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification or equivalent.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
• NICEIC-approved / Black Card QS status.
• Proven hands‑on experience within commercial and industrial electrical installations.
• Strong understanding of electrical installation methods, testing procedures, BS 7671 and relevant compliance standards.
• Experience supervising, leading and mentoring electricians and junior engineers.
• Thorough knowledge of current electrical regulations, health & safety requirements and industry best practice.
• Experience managing site works safely and issuing permits to work where required.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality, safety and regulatory compliance.
• Confident communicator with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors and project managers.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to monitor multiple projects and priorities.
• Full UK driving licence.
