Job description

Our client is a global leader in stainless steel, as a business they strive to employ people who are passionate about success and seek to inspire others in their working environment.
At their site in Sheffield, they are requiring a skilled Electrical Project Engineer to join their dynamic and hardworking team on a permanent basis.

THE ROLE:
To effectively deliver projects within the business, as Electrical Project Engineer you will play a crucial role in the team, and your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring project success, meeting deadlines and maintaining the highest standards of quality. Managing multiple projects, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Operations, to deliver solutions that contribute towards business success. Development and modernisation of the plant to ensure availability, reliability and performance targets are met.

THE MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

1. The design, development, and delivery of electrical based projects, providing technically sound engineering solutions.
2. Planning and co-ordinating electrical engineering operations during plant shutdowns inclusive of major maintenance activities.
3. Act as a subject matter expert for all new equipment, using in-depth knowledge to solve difficult engineering failures and improve plant reliability.
4. Negotiating and managing key electrical contracts.
5. Liaising with external suppliers and contractors to provide solutions to production and engineering challenges.
6. Accountable for budgeting, forecasting, and receiving competitive quotes for all work to be undertaken.
7. Development of plant to improve performance and reliability.
8. Providing the necessary documentation to cover all aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental Control inclusive of Permit Systems, Safe Working Procedures, Isolation/Immobilisation and Environmental Management Systems.
9. Understanding and interpreting drawings and specifications to resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and problems as they arise.
10. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and objectives.
11. Participate in meetings and discussions with stakeholders to provide updates on project status.

For this position of Electrical Project Engineer:
Your working hours will be Monday to Friday days at 37.5 hours per week.

THE CANDIDATE:
Required:

1. Driven to work in a demanding and challenging environment.
2. Educated to an HNC level in Electrical Engineering.
3. Be able to demonstrate previous Project Engineer experience.
4. Able to demonstrate a high level of electrical hands-on skills.
5. A good communicator, both verbal & written.
6. Able to demonstrate good planning skills and problem-solving abilities.
7. Able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of health and safety and environmental policies and plans.
