Job summary

Southern Water is seeking a Process Technician - Electrician to join the Wastewater Treatment Team in Battle. The role involves maintaining and repairing wastewater treatment works, sludge centres, and pumping stations, with responsibilities covering motors, starts, and VSDs, plus safe insertion of drives and motor control systems.

You will respond to alarms, conduct inspections, and provide technical support to internal teams and contractors.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ Electrical qualification with certificates.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Desirable: experience in water industry.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Undertake reactive and planned maintenance of plant and equipment, including motors, starters, and variable speed drives.
• Install new plant and equipment, ensuring safe integration of electrical systems such as drives and motor control setups.
• Respond to alarms and fault-find issues on electrical assets, escalating as needed.
• Carry out inspection and testing on electrical equipment following procedures and standards.
• Provide technical expertise to internal teams and contractors around motor control and automation equipment.
• Update company systems and databases accurately and promptly.
• Participate in standby cover on a 1-in-7 rota.
