Job summary
Formula 1 at Biggin Hill is seeking an electrical engineer to design and deliver temporary power distribution, switchgear and UPS-backed solutions for race operations. You will develop concepts through to detailed designs and collaborate with engineers, suppliers and manufacturing partners.
You will ensure compliance with UK/European standards, document technical details, and support on-site delivery across events worldwide.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, ElectricalOM or similar software.
- Ability to produce accurate electrical drawings and technical docs.
- Knowledge of LV distribution systems and panel design.
- Familiarity with UPS systems and power distribution equipment.
- Understanding UK/European electrical standards and codes.
- Ability to manage design information, revisions and records.
- Strong communication of technical concepts to stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop temporary power distribution systems for global events.
- Transform requirements into manufacturable electrical designs and docs.
- Produce schematics, single-line diagrams and wiring schedules.
- Develop switchgear assemblies, UPS-backed systems and pods.
- Collaborate with Project Engineers, operations, suppliers and manufacturing.
- Support design reviews, delivery, validation and on-site activities.
- Verify compliance with safety and industry standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of products and processes.
- Research new technologies and support new power solutions.
