Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Power Systems Software professional to provide technical expertise on AEMS Reliance and related GE Vernova software solutions. You will diagnose complex issues, support multiple modules, and contribute to fixes and deployments in a customer-focused role.

The candidate should have strong programming skills (C, C++, C#, Python) and knowledge of power systems, RDBMS, and Linux, with the potential for regional travel and UK security clearance if required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Power Systems or related field; relevant experience accepted with high school diploma.
• Degree in electrical Power Systems plus track record in software development or project delivery.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to present to technical and non-technical staff and customers.
• Excellent programming skills in C, C++, C#, Python or other related language.
• Knowledge or experience with RDBMS and Linux.
• Understanding of power systems or energy management systems (State Estimation, Contingency Analysis, OPF, Dispatcher Training Simulator).
• Experience in power systems domain and knowledge of electric utility industry practices.
• UK Security Clearance (SC) may be required.

Responsibilities

• Gather information from customers, diagnose and resolve complex issues.
• Support incoming tickets across AEMS power system modules.
• Develop fixes and product enhancements with GE Vernova Electrification Software experts.
• Maintain power systems application functionality, including code fixes, documentation, and user interfaces.
• Perform regular build deployment activities and orchestrate deployments through production.
• Provide 24/7 emergency support as needed.
• Liaise with customers and third-party vendors.
• Travel to customer sites in the region as required.

• Work with Electric Utilities System Operators and Transmission System Operators
• Provide technical expertise and customer guidance on GE Vernova software solutions such as AEMS Reliance
• Gather information from customers, investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex issues
• Support incoming tickets across various AEMS power system modules
• Develop fixes and product enhancements with GE Vernova Electrification Software experts
• Maintain power systems application functionality, including code fixes, documentation, and user interfaces
• Perform regular build deployment activities and orchestrate deployments through production
• Handle out-of-hours 24/7 emergency support
• Facilitate relationships between customers and third-party vendors
• Travel to customer sites in the region as required

Requirements

• Knowledge level comparable to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience)
• Degree in electrical Power Systems plus track record in software development or project delivery in related field
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to make formal and informal presentations to technical and non-technical staff and customers
• Excellent programming skills in C, C++, C#, Python or other related language
• Knowledge or experience in any RDBMS and Linux
• Good understanding of power systems and/or energy management systems, with focus on transmission Network Applications like State Estimation, Contingency Analysis, Optimal Power Flow or Dispatcher Training Simulator
• Work and/or academic experience in the power systems area
• Knowledge and experience with electric utility industry practices
• Strong knowledge of customer perspective and needs
• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Background checks and suitability assessments, including UK Security Clearance (SC), may be required based on customer requirements
