Job summary

United Utilities’ OT Field Technician (Electrical) role is based at Lostock Water Treatment Works in Bolton. The position focuses on fault finding, maintenance, and automation across critical water infrastructure in the North West.

The role is full-time, onsite, with a 37-hour working week. The ideal candidate will have an Electrical or Instrumentation apprenticeship, experience with SCADA/PLC and IT systems, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Completed Electrical or Instrumentation apprenticeship.
• Experience with industrial control and automation systems.
• Knowledge of SCADA, PLCs, telemetry and wide area communication technologies.
• Understanding of IT hardware and Microsoft applications.
• GCSEs including Maths at minimum grade 5/C.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support operational technology assets across water treatment operations.
• Diagnose faults and implement solutions to maintenance issues.
• Support SCADA, PLC, telemetry, and security systems.
• Collaborate with operations and work management teams to ensure high-quality service.
• Adhere to Health & Safety and Information Security requirements.
