Job summary

Equinix, Inc. is seeking an Electrical or Mechanical Technician to maintain the day-to-day electrical and mechanical infrastructure of the Slough Campus.

You will work on LV distribution, switchgear, UPS, standby generators, cooling and HVAC equipment, pumps, water treatment, fire detection and BMS, performing planned maintenance, inspections and repairs. You will respond to alarms, coordinate contractors, and support safe operation 24/7.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining electrical or mechanical infrastructure in commercial/building services environments.
• Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), inspections, testing and fault finding.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with electrical distribution, generators, UPS, HVAC, or building services infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and routine inspections.
• Respond to equipment alarms, faults and reactive maintenance requests.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical systems.
• Operate and maintain LV electrical systems, UPS, standby generators, switchgear, cooling/HVAC, pumps, water treatment, fire detection/suppression, and BMS.
• Complete operational checks, testing and system inspections.
• Record maintenance activities and shift reports accurately.
• Coordinate and oversee specialist contractors performing maintenance.
• Follow permit-to-work procedures and safe systems of work.
• Support incident response and equipment recovery activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and high operational standards.
