Job summary

Sodexo Ltd in Gateshead is seeking an experienced Maintenance Team Leader (Mechanical/Electrical) to lead a team delivering hard FM services across university facilities. You will oversee planned and reactive maintenance, drive safety, compliance and performance, and coordinate engineers, technicians and contractors.

The successful candidate will have a time-served electrical or mechanical apprenticeship (HND/NVQ3 or equivalent), at least five years in building services, and proven leadership

Qualifications

Time-served electrical or mechanical apprenticeship with HND, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
Minimum five years' experience within building services or facilities management.
Experience managing and developing engineering teams.
Knowledge of electrical, mechanical and building services systems.

Responsibilities

Lead the day-to-day delivery of planned, reactive and corrective maintenance across residential and communal buildings.
Oversee safe operation, compliance and reliability of engineering assets.
Manage resource allocation, labour deployment and materials for efficient service delivery.
Coordinate specialist contractors and review works to meet quality standards.
