Job summary

Ylem Energy Limited is seeking an Engineering Technician to join a North West-based team, supporting maintenance and operation of generator sets and gas processing plant. You will diagnose faults, perform planned maintenance, and work with Operations and Projects teams to pass on skills and improve reliability.

The role involves on-call duties, travel across the UK, and a focus on HSQE compliance. The ideal candidate has extensive electrical and mechanical maintenance experience, knowledge of

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge and experience of Electrical and Mechanical maintenance.
• Recognised level in an Electrical skill or relevant field experience.
• Experience with electric control systems 12V DC – 415V AC 3ø.
• Fault location, diagnosis and rectification.
• Experience with Landfill Gas, specialist fuels and/or on generators is advantageous.
• Computer literate.
• Hold full UK drivers licence.

Responsibilities

• Day to day operations and maintenance including but not limited to; fault diagnosis, location and rectification.
• Planned maintenance and breakdown response on the generator sets with minimum outages.
• A commitment to continuous enhancement of skills and knowledge, and that of the technicians working with you.
• Seek guidance and advice from the Engineering and Management team in anything you are unsure of.
• Avoiding unnecessary expenditure by using skills and tools available from within the company.
• Ensuring a stock of basic spare parts as detailed by the Area Supervisor is replenished and always to hand should there be a breakdown.
• A commitment to Health, Safety Quality and Environmental practices following all procedures and using your own judgement.
• Reducing the company’s reliance on contractors wherever this is economically prudent.
• Compliance and implementation of company protection procedures with a proactive approach to maintaining, monitoring, reporting and auditing.
• Managing your time and travel effectively, staying away from home where appropriate.
• Compliance with all legislation.
