Job summary

Yolk Recruitment is exclusively representing a leading UK manufacturer seeking an electrically biased Maintenance Technician to join its established engineering team in Pontyclun.

You will work across a three-shift pattern, responding to electrical and mechanical breakdowns, performing preventative maintenance, and applying fault-finding skills on PLC and CNC systems to keep production running safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' experience in a maintenance or engineering role.
• Strong electrical maintenance background.
• Experience with PLC and CNC systems; further training available.
• NVQ Level 3 in a relevant engineering discipline.
• HNC or equivalent higher qualification is advantageous.
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Respond to electrical and mechanical breakdowns across production machinery and the wider facility
• Complete planned preventative maintenance activities to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime
• Diagnose and repair faults involving PLC systems, CNC machinery, hydraulics, and pneumatics
• Use your electrical maintenance knowledge to identify faults and deliver effective, lasting repairs
• Support engineering improvement projects and the introduction of new technology
• Work collaboratively with production and engineering colleagues to maintain plant reliability
• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently
