Job summary

Total Facilities Recruitment Limited is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer for Northampton (Milton Malsor) to carry out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical building services equipment and related fabric works. The role involves fault-finding, testing, and ensuring safety and paperwork compliance.

You'll work with a team, demonstrate a customer-focused approach, and be able to self-motivate with autonomous tasks.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 2382 – 18th Edition IEE.
• Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent training.
• Demonstrable knowledge of building services engineering.
• Strong customer service approach.
• Smart, presentable appearance.
• Logical thinker with strong fault-finding ability.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance as instructed by the Manager.
• Fault‑find, test, repair and perform preventative maintenance on electrical building services equipment.
• Undertake various non‑specialist building fabric maintenance tasks.
• Close and update completed PPM tasks on the site’s computerised maintenance system.
• Maintain engineering standards to maximise plant performance and reliability.
• Adhere to all company quality assurance and site procedures.
• Follow site and company Health & Safety procedures at all times.
• Maintain accurate site documentation for all works.
• Inspect service conditions and proactively address call‑outs and repairs as required.
• Perform tasks within plant rooms and at high level using access equipment.
• Ensure all issued tools are kept safe, serviceable and well‑maintained.
• Positively support the contract and contribute to successful service delivery.
• Complete additional tasks requested by management, including occasional security‑related assistance
