Job summary

Nicholas Associates Group is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer in Barnsley to maintain production machinery, perform PPm, and resolve PLC faults. The role requires hands-on problem solving and a proactive approach to reliability improvements on a rotating days/nights shift.

Qualifications

• Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in Electrical Engineering
• Strong background in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing environment
• Proven fault-finding experience on industrial machinery
• Experience working with PLC-controlled systems
• A proactive, hands-on engineer with strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively on a rotating shift pattern (days and nights)

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across a range of production machinery
• Respond quickly and effectively to reactive breakdowns to minimise downtime
• Electrical fault finding and diagnostics on manufacturing equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled systems
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across site maintenance and reliability
• Work collaboratively with production teams to ensure safe and efficient operations
