Job summary

The Electrical Maintenance Engineer role in Consett, County Durham, offers a rotating 12‑hour shift pattern with day and night cycles. You will diagnose faults, perform repairs, and support plant reliability to maximise machine availability, while prioritising safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• HNC, time-served apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in engineering.
• Fault-finding and repair skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and perform timely repairs.
• Support safe and efficient running of plant equipment.
• Escalate significant concerns to Maintenance Manager.
• Contribute to productivity, quality and equipment reliability improvements.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and housekeeping.
• Share technical knowledge and support colleagues’ development.
• Coordinate work during daily team meetings and maintain cross-department communication.
