Job summary

ACS Recruitment Solutions Ltd in Northampton is seeking an experienced Electrical Biased Maintenance Engineer to join a regulated manufacturing business. You will maintain high-speed production machinery and contribute to continuous improvement within a modern facility.

The role requires time-served electrical engineering with an apprenticeship and at least 3 years post-apprenticeship maintenance experience, with strong PLC, automation, pneumatics, and hydraulics knowledge.

Qualifications

Time-served Electrical Engineer with a recognised apprenticeship.
Minimum of 3 years' post-apprenticeship maintenance experience.
Strong multi-skilled engineering background.
Experience within a regulated or high-speed manufacturing environment.
Good working knowledge of PLCs, automation, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Strong understanding of Health & Safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Carry out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.
Respond to breakdowns with fault finding and root cause analysis.
Maintain and repair PLC-controlled, high-speed production and packaging machinery.
Work on equipment including industrial ovens, microwaves, HV transformers, slicers, sealers, metal detectors, and refrigeration systems.
Support equipment optimisation, machine start-ups, and performance monitoring.
Maintain accurate maintenance records using the CMMS system.
Complete detailed shift handovers and engineering reports.
Support and mentor apprentices and junior engineers as required.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, food safety, and company procedures.
