Job summary

Synergi invites applications for a Maintenance Engineer (Day Shift) at our Northampton site. The role is electrically biased and multi-skilled, with a 4 on/4 off day pattern from 6:00am to 6:00pm.

You will handle planned maintenance and breakdowns on high-speed packaging and processing lines within a food manufacturing setting. Candidate should have a time-served apprenticeship or equivalent qualification, strong PLC fault-finding skills, and experience reading electrical drawings.

Qualifications

• Time-served engineering apprenticeship or relevant qualification (Electrical/Mechanical).
• Strong fault-finding skills on PLC-controlled machinery.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs.
• Fault find on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Work on high-speed production, packaging and processing equipment.
• Ensure machinery operates safely, efficiently and reliably.
• Complete maintenance documentation and update CMMS records.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
• Assist with equipment installations, modifications and upgrades.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, quality and health & safety compliance.

A leading food manufacturing business is looking to recruit an electrically biased, multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team on a permanent day shift basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs.
• Fault find on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Work on high-speed production, packaging and processing equipment.
• Ensure machinery operates safely, efficiently and reliably.
• Complete maintenance documentation and update CMMS records.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
• Assist with equipment installations, modifications and upgrades.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, quality and health & safety compliance.

Requirements

• Time-served Engineering apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification (Electrical or Mechanical).
• Electrically biased with strong multi-skilled maintenance experience.
• Minimum 5 years' food manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience working within a fast-paced FMCG or food production environment.
• Strong fault-finding skills on PLC-controlled machinery.
• Knowledge of planned preventative maintenance systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Must live within approximately 30 minutes of Northampton.
