Job summary

CDM Recruitment is working with a major engineering and manufacturing business in Newcastle to recruit an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician. This is a hands-on role across a substantial site, covering reactive and preventative maintenance, breakdowns, electrical fault finding and equipment improvement.

The role offers five 12-hour day/night shifts on a 21-day cycle, 15 days off, no weekend working, and a salary of £47-52k plus overtime and an annual bonus.

Qualifications

• Time-served electrical maintenance professional with a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Maintenance experience in manufacturing, production or engineering.
• Strong electrical fault-finding skills.
• Experience fault-finding on industrial machinery and control systems.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
• PLC fault-finding/diagnostic experience is advantageous.
• HNC or equivalent advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Reactive, planned and preventative electrical maintenance.
• Electrical fault finding and breakdown response.
• Maintenance of manufacturing and production equipment.
• Fault finding on electrical control systems, motors, sensors and associated equipment.
• Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics.
• Root cause analysis and equipment reliability improvements.
• Supporting machinery installation and commissioning.
• Continuous improvement and downtime reduction.
• PLC fault finding and diagnostics where required.
