MTrec Ltd Technical is recruiting an Electrical Maintenance Engineer for a permanent role in the UK. You will join a hands‑on in‑house team, maintaining electrical and electro‑mechanical plant, and supporting production with proactive maintenance and fast fault resolution.

The role operates on a Panama shift pattern (days for two weeks, then nights for two weeks) and requires a practical, safety‑mocussed approach with strong problem‑solving skills. Overtime is available.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in manufacturing or factory environments.
• Strong health and safety practices.
• Good communication skills, written and verbal.
• Diagnostics experience with electrical motors and pneumatics.
• Experience with PLCs and electrical/electro‑mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform planned preventive maintenance.
• Install and maintain electrical and electro‑mechanical plant equipment.
• Operate the preventative maintenance system and log activities.
• Attend breakdowns and diagnose faults to restore production quickly.
• Promote Lean thinking and safe working practices (SSOW).
• Support continuous improvement of equipment reliability.

Our client are specialists in their industry sector, they are looking to recruit an Electrical Maintenance Engineer on a permanent basis.

The role will be working a Panama shift where you will work 7 days out of every 14 days.

The shift pattern is 2 weeks of days (6.30am to 6.00pm) then 2 weeks of nights (6.30pm to 6.00am).

The Job you ll do

• As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer you will be part of a hands-on in-house team who keep the plant running by ensuring the equipment runs smoothly.
• From troubleshooting to planned preventive maintenance (PPM), you will be hands-on with specialist machinery, ensuring everything runs like clockwork.
• It's a dynamic role where problem-solving skills and technical expertise are used daily, and you will be a key player contributing to the efficiency and reliability of our production processes.
• Engineers have a varied role, so you ll get the chance to use a variety of electrical skills associated with being an electrician and service engineer.
• Install and maintaining all electrical & electro-mechanical plant equipment or machinery.
• Operating a preventative electrical maintenance system.
• Faulting finding and repairs.
• Program Siemens & other programmable logic controllers (PLC s).
• Use various types of testing equipment to locate and remedy faults.
• Promote Lean thinking.
• Attend breakdowns.
• Contribute to safe systems of work (SSOW) documentation.

About You

• You will be an electrically biased engineer with experience of working in a manufacturing / factory environment, with a minimum level 3 qualification in an Electrical Engineering discipline.
• Safety is our biggest priority, so you ll be committed to safe working and have strong experience of health and safety best practice.
• You ll enjoy working in a busy environment where you can roll your sleeves up and get hands-on, and being flexible and able to adapt to the different daily priorities will enable the factory to continue to run efficiently.
• As this role is sometimes physically demanding, you ll be fit enough to perform your various duties.
• Good communication (written and verbal).
• Good working knowledge of environment, health, and safety (EHS) processes.
• Analytical & problem-solving skills.
• Diagnostics experience of electrical motors and pneumatics.
• Experience and knowledge of PLCs (programmable logic controllers).

Desirable

• 17th / 18th edition qualified (although training could be provided)
• Completed a hands-on apprentice training programme
• HNC or HND qualification (or equivalent)
• Heavy industry experience.
