Job description

Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Location:

Crewkerne, Somerset

Salary:

£35,000 – £40,000 per annum DOE

Working Hours:

Monday – Thursday 8:00am – 5:00pm, Friday 8:00am – 12:00pm (39 hours/week)

Duration:

Permanent

ASAP (subject to interview)

Job Description:

• Perform reactive and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.
• Troubleshoot faults and repair electrical and mechanical systems.
• Work with motors, conveyors, pneumatic tools, hydraulic systems, and production machinery.
• Check, calibrate, and repair instruments.
• Handle electrical tasks including lighting, wiring, testing, and alarm systems.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and ensure safety compliance.
• Assist with scheduled maintenance and maintain accurate records.
• Fabricate parts and manage stock of spare components.
• Liaise with the production team to minimize downtime.

Requirements:

• Relevant electrical qualifications (City & Guilds, 18th Edition or NVQ Level 3+).
• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing/industrial setting.
• Dual-skilled (mechanical/electrical) preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, manuals, and technical drawings.
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in foundry or heavy engineering is desirable but not essential.
