A leading waste management company seeks an Electrical Shift Maintenance Engineer for its South Kirkby facility in Wakefield. The role involves executing planned maintenance, diagnosing electrical faults, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Ideal candidates will have relevant NVQ qualifications and be proficient in electrical testing and safety protocols.
Electrical Shift Maintenance Engineer - South Kirkby, Wakefield
Salary: £45,842.60 per annum
4 on, 4 off, days and nights, 12hr shifts
In this role you’ll ensure the latest technology is coupled with industry-leading practices to implement efficiency and sustainability in line with company values. Executing planned maintenance activities (inspections, monitoring and routine) and providing the necessary technical feedback to allow improvement to the job plans and task list within the CMMS will form a regular part of your day-to-day duties.
Your key responsibilities
• Maintain maintenance document and drawings to the required standard to ensure legal compliance.
• Diagnosing complex electrical, control, fibre, profibus communication issues.
• Reporting of any poor maintenance practices and any deviations from the Maintenance Management Framework and supporting business process standards.
• Use of the CMMS system for any work relating to the maintenance services delivery (Work Orders) and the recording of time, spares and any other resources required to execute the work.
• Assist in mechanical plant upgrades as assigned by Lifecycle Team Manager to ensure CLEER/Capex forms are completed on time and effectively
Essential criteria for this role:
• A minimum electrical qualification (industrial facing) at NVQ level 3, BTEC ONC/OND, NVQ IV/V, BTEC HNC/HND level.
• Strong fault diagnosis and rectification on control systems (PLCs, SCADA etc) and electrical systems and circuits from 24V d.c up to 415V a.c
• 18th Edition qualified
• Good working knowledge on electrical installations, electrical testing, lighting maintenance, in service inspection and testing of electrical equipment Competent in the use of testing equipment and other hand tools that would be expected to be used in maintenance activities.
• Excellent understanding of health, safety, and environmental compliance
• Working knowledge of Electricity At Work Regulations (EaWR 1989) and PTW and LOTO systems.
