Qualifications

Role Details:

Our client, a prominent entity in the Defence & Security sector, seeks a Maintenance Engineer for the Calibration and Maintenance Department in Stevenage. The role involves maintaining critical equipment, focusing on electrical systems, requiring a proactive and technically skilled individual.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform preventative maintenance on process equipment and environmental stress screening facilities.
2. Diagnose faults and conduct repairs down to component level using schematics, manuals, and drawings.
3. Support operations with preventative maintenance and provide technical guidance.
4. Update spares packages to minimize equipment downtime.
5. Manage maintenance and breakdown contracts, internal and external.
6. Ensure safety standards compliance and perform safety inspections.
7. Support faults on extraction units, motors, electrical safety testing, and electrical panels.
8. Develop effective maintenance schedules and protocols collaboratively.

Job Requirements:

1. Electrical Apprenticeship + Level 3 qualification (e.g., NVQ or HNC Electrical Manufacturing)
2. Experience with Planned Preventative Maintenance and fault-finding on electronic manufacturing machinery.
3. Ability to interpret technical documents, including drawings and specifications.
4. Desirable: Experience with manufacturing process equipment (e.g., CCA), vibration shakers, environmental chambers.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical approach.
6. Desirable: Knowledge of SAP, mentoring skills, IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671 18th Edition), and IET Code of Practice.

Additional Information:

1. Candidates must hold or be eligible for SC clearance.
2. Site-based role in Stevenage, with standard day hours.
3. This is a newly created role supporting ongoing projects within the Calibration and Maintenance Department.
