The Role
Working double days, the successful candidate will carry out electrical maintenance across plastic moulding machinery and powder manufacturing equipment.
Machinery: Plastic moulding machinery, extruders, powder manufacturing machinery, mixers, conveyors, pulverisers, pumps, motors, gearboxes, pneumatics and hydraulics, Siemens PLCs.
Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical maintenance on plastic moulding machinery, extruders and powder manufacturing equipment.
- Participate in a 1-in-3 on call rota, providing out of hours engineering support when required.
- Perform fault-finding and diagnostics on industrial electrical systems to minimise downtime.
- Diagnose issues with Siemens PLC systems, AC/DC motors, drives and variable speed drives.
- Maintain conveyors, material handling systems and process equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
- Service sensors, relays, contactors, control circuits and industrial instrumentation.
- Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and respond to reactive maintenance.
- Undertake general maintenance and repair work across the site as required.
Entry Requirements
- City & Guilds, NVQ or BTEC Level 3 in Electrical Engineering, ideally gained through a recognised apprenticeship.
- 5+ years as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Multi-Skilled Engineer or Maintenance Electrician in manufacturing.
- Experience with AC/DC motors, drives, inverters and variable speed drives.
- Knowledge of conveyors, material handling systems and process equipment maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Experience with sensors, relays, contactors and industrial instrumentation.
